This process can be expedited by elements such as exposure to salt, high humidity, cosmetics, lotions, hand sanitizer, and PH imbalance (certain body chemistry). To maintain, polish with a soft cloth and mild metal cleaner. Avoid exposing to harsh chemicals and store in a dry place. It is not recommended to wear while swimming.
